About the Carl Junction  R-1 School District

The Carl Junction (R-1) School District is located in southwest Missouri, bordering Kansas and Oklahoma. Carl Junction Schools, in partnership with its community, cultivates a vibrant and diverse learning environment that prepares students to be productive citizens. The district seeks to create a challenging learning environment that empowers its students to be positive community members with a sense of understanding and compassion for others and the courage to act on their beliefs. The district is comprised of seven school buildings. The Carl Junction School District has 293 certified staff and a PreK-12 enrollment of 3,370 students.

Position Purpose
To inspire, lead, guide and direct every member of the administrative, instructional, and supportive services teams in setting and achieving the highest standards of excellence in developing and maintaining the best possible educational programs and services, so that each individual student enrolled in the school district will be provided with a complete, valuable, meaningful, and personally rewarding education.
 
To oversee and administer the use of all school district facilities, property, and funds with to ensure that those resources are utilized in an appropriate manner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and master's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in School Administration.
• Master's plus 30 or doctoral degree preferred.
• Extensive successful teaching experience, preferably in more than one grade level.
• Extensive successful administration experience, preferably both as a school building and central office administrator.
• Successful central office experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong budget and finance experience
• Relatable communicator
• Good community engagement skills
