POSITION:  Assistant Principal

LOCATION:  Gannett Peak Elementary

SALARY:  $73,725-$88,725 (based on 2024-25 salary schedule), salary placement dependent upon experience and education; full benefits

CONTRACT: 210-day contract with personal and sick leave

START DATE: July 28, 2025

POSITION CLOSES:  February 21, 2025

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold, a certificate issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board with an endorsement as a principal.  Experience as an elementary teacher is desired. Candidates should have the commitment and skills needed to be a strong instructional leader with the ability to collaborate with the principal and teachers to solve problems and implement solutions; knowledge of the elementary-level learner, especially in early literacy and math foundational skills; ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents; willingness to maintain high visibility throughout the school; effective communication skills; an understanding of positive behavior support interventions/systems and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS); the ability to work with at-risk students and students with behavioral issues; a willingness to listen, to be innovative, and to generate new ideas; ability to lead the school community built upon achievement and excellence for all; ability to analyze and use data to make systemic and programmatic changes; work closely with PLC teams to ensure all students are learning at high levels; strong interpersonal relationship skills; experience with the CCSS, standards based grading, and implementation of the standards into the district adopted curriculum.

DESCRIPTION: This position will serve as Assistant Principal of a K-3 elementary school with 430 students.  The Assistant Principal’s job responsibilities will include the supervision and evaluation of certified and classified staff; development, planning and implementation of building level initiatives; planning and delivery of professional development; supervision, discipline, and monitoring of students.  The Assistant Principal, under the direction of the Building Principal, implements and enforces school board policies, administrative rules and regulations.  In the absence of the Building Principal, the Assistant Principal shall assume the duties and responsibilities of the Building Principal.  The Assistant Principal will work cooperatively with the District Superintendent and administrative team to support district-wide goals and initiatives.
