Location: East Alabama Neurosurgery and Spine in Auburn, AL
Reports To: Physician/ Office Manager
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with both clinical and administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of our medical office. The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask efficiently, and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight).
- Assist physicians with patient exams and procedures.
- Address patient inquiries in a professional manner.
- Prepare and maintain medical equipment and supplies for exams and procedures.
- Maintain patient medical records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ensure proper sterilization of equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
- Handle patient correspondence
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office or healthcare setting is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, office procedures, and basic medical concepts.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Working Conditions:
- Part-time position.
- Standard office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist patients during exams or procedures.
