Founded on Skid Row in 1980, Para Los Niños provides education and wraparound support, serving over 10,000 children, youth, and families annually in some of the most underserved areas in Los Angeles. Position Overview (this position will end on approximately July 31, 2025)
The Angeleno Corps Program is an equity and justice agenda and a core investment of the City of Los Angeles in youth development and career pathways for young Angelenos. The Angeleno Corps is a 10-month service, support, and education program designed to engage young people in community recovery efforts in our City’s neighborhoods most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and historic and present racial oppression.
PLN has hosted more than 75 Angeleno Corps members through our Youth Workforce Services Program. Each Angeleno Corps member received hands-on work experience in industries from education, health justice, and digital assistance to immigration advocacy–some of them are even working at Para Los Niños. Under the direction of the Director of Youth Workforce Services, the Service Lead Coordinator will operationalize the service, educational and support goals of the Angeleno Corps Members.
Duties
- Operationalize the service, educational and support goals of the Angeleno Corps Members
- Lead a cohort of approximately 50 Corps Members
- Develop and maintain service and education plans for each Corps Member on an on-going basis
- Facilitate weekly and monthly Corps Members meetings
- Serve as the active point of contact for the service placement sites
- Process participant monthly stipend, educational scholarship and supportive services
- Conduct intake, assessment and eligibility for program participants
- Manage participant outcomes and performance
- Maintain participant files and supporting documentation for audit purposes
- Manage database and submit regular reports, as requested
- Coordinate participant events and trainings including “Days of Service”
- Ensure participant engagement and retention
- Coordinate with YWS staff and partner agencies to co-case management Corps members
- Perform other related duties
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
- A High School diploma is required; a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university is preferred.
- One to two years of experience in leadership and/or community organizing, preferably working with students and/or families
- Demonstrated understanding of the critical equity issues students and families face in Los Angeles
- Demonstrated experience supervising peers or younger students and/or working on a team or in a group
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. English proficiency supporting professional-level verbal and written communication to children, parents and other staff members required.
- Excellent communication skills with diverse communities
- The ideal candidate will have the ability to build awareness of cross-cultural differences and connect students and families to essential resources. They should be skilled in multitasking, balancing multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines responsibly, with strong project management and organizational abilities. Additionally, experience in case management and coaching is essential to support the needs of students and families effectively.

- Must be able to speak and hear well.
- Good vision is imperative.

- Employee will be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance .
- TB test clearance to be renewed every two years.
- Verification of Immunizations required by the California Department of Health (Pertussis, Measles and Influenza).
