Program Manager of Community Engagement

Job Title: Program Manager of Community Engagement
Location: Decatur, GA
Type: Full-time, Salaried Position, In person role with some offsite work required

As the Program Manager of Community Engagement at L'Arche Atlanta, you will play a pivotal role in building an inclusive, welcoming environment for people with and without disabilities. This role allows you to use your creativity and leadership skills to connect individuals, facilitate social engagement, and help foster relationships that uplift the community.

You will be responsible for planning and executing vibrant social events, managing volunteers, supporting advocacy efforts, and ensuring our programs are designed with priority to disability accessibility. Whether hosting a virtual gathering or organizing a community potluck, you will have the opportunity to create connections that matter.

What You'll Do:

  • Plan and emcee inclusive in-person and virtual events that bring people together.
  • Build meaningful, one-on-one relationships within the community.
  • Lead and coordinate volunteers across programs and engage with L’Arche Atlanta’s Community Council.
  • Work closely with local advocacy groups and help create pathways for community involvement.
  • Collaborate with our Communications Director to promote and enhance engagement efforts.
  • Engage with the broader L’Arche Federation to share insights and support national events.

Who You Are:

  • A natural leader, comfortable directing both large and small groups in person and virtually.
  • A public speaker with experience presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Someone who is deeply committed to accessibility and inclusivity.
  • Passionate about fostering relationships that empower and support others.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Current and valid drivers license
  • Strong verbal and writing skills 
  • This role requires regular weekend and evening work, with weekday flexibility to compensate
  • Experience managing volunteers and committees
