Midwest Shoe Merchants, Inc. in New Berlin, WI is looking to hire a Full-Time Human Resources Generalist to support Stan's Shoes, Goodmiles Running Company, The Vionic Store, and Waxberg's Walk Shoppe.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

As the Human Resources Generalist, you would be responsible for ensuring compliant, inclusive, fair, and efficient business operations. You will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping us to strategize, plan, and execute important functions, such as recruiting, onboarding, training, payroll, compensation, and benefits. You will serve a growing retail store population of 100+ employees, collaborate with our Vice President of Sales, and report to the Director of Operations.

You need to be a leader who contributes to enhancing internal relationships within Midwest Shoe Merchants, upholding our Corporate mission and visions. You need to be a people person - you perform internal customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions escalating to the Director of Operations or Vice President of Sales as needed. You collaborate with management to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's corporate mission & values for internal and external communication and growth.

You work with the Executive Team on employee handbook updates and procedure manual. Also, assist in practicing gratitude by celebrating our employees at corporate events and celebrations.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

  • Minimum Associate degree in Human Resources and 2-4 years of progressive Human Resources experience
  • Solid understanding of human resource concepts, laws, & regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution/dispute resolution skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Knowledge of employment-related regulations and laws
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Suite
  • Experience with iSolved and iSolved Hire appreciated
  • High attention to detail as well as critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization

WORK SCHEDULE FOR A HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

This Human Resources Generalist position is full-time (40-45 hours per week) and works out of our Corporate Office in New Berlin, WI.
