This is a full-time on-site role for a skilled Sanitary Welder. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing precision welding tasks in accordance with industry standards and regulations, ensuring the integrity and cleanliness of all welds at the organization facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welding and Fabrication: Perform TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) and MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding on stainless steel and other materials commonly used in bioprocessing.
- Sanitary Design Compliance: Ensure that all welding processes adhere to the highest sanitary standards, including maintaining smooth welds and ensuring no contamination risks within the bioprocessing system.
- Blueprint and Schematic Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine welding requirements, ensuring accuracy in measurements and alignment.
- Inspection and Quality Control: Inspect welded seams and finished assemblies to verify adherence to specifications and regulatory standards. Conduct visual and mechanical inspections, perform non-destructive testing (NDT), and resolve any defects found.
- System Installation & Maintenance: Assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of piping systems, pressure vessels, tanks, and other process equipment.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring the facility maintains a safe working environment. Adhere to regulatory standards (e.g., ASME, FDA, USDA) and internal procedures to ensure compliance with industry-specific requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other welders to ensure seamless execution of welding projects and timely delivery of bioprocessing systems.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of welding procedures, material specifications, and inspections, ensuring traceability for future audits and quality reviews.
Key Profile Attributes:
- Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding techniques.
- Flexible, innovative and able to work independently.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in welding technology (e.g., ASME, AWS, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in sanitary welding, preferably in a bioprocessing or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of sanitary welding standards and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, typically up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at various heights.
- Manual dexterity and precision.
- Ability to work in a clean room environment, where contamination control is critical.
Compensation:
Scismic is conducting a global search so specific compensation matters (such as base salary numbers) will be discussed with interested parties. However, in outline, our client offers a strong compensation package including:
