Job Overview:

Out and About Placement is seeking independent contractors to facilitate supervised visitations between children and their non-custodial parents. This role involves observing, documenting, and reporting interactions to ensure compliance with court orders while maintaining neutrality.

This position is ideal for students or professionals in law, psychology, social work, criminal justice, or related fields who are looking for hands-on experience in family dynamics, legal compliance, and professional observation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Observe and Document: Monitor parent-child interactions and document observations in a factual, neutral, and non-emotional manner.
  • Record and Report: Use body cameras, breathalyzers (as required), and written logs to record visitations. (all equipment is provided)
  • Maintain Professionalism: Act strictly as a neutral third party—not a mediator, social worker, or childcare provider.
  • Follow Policies and Procedures: Ensure compliance with all company policies, court orders, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Handle Scheduling Commitments: Honor assigned visitations and arrange for proper coverage if needed.
  • Enforce Boundaries: Remain within earshot and line of sight of the parent and child at all times during visitation.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to remain neutral.
  • Ability to document observations clearly and professionally.
  • Comfortable with technology (video recording and digital reporting).
  • Reliable transportation to various community locations.
  • Be able to set consistent boundaries with families well complying with O and A's policies.
  • Independent contractors must adhere to all policies outlined in the Independent Contractor Manual and Basic Policies.

Additional Information:

  • This is a 1099 independent contractor position (not an employee role).
  • Hours fluctuate and can vary from 2hours-15hours depending on availability. 
  • Supervisors are able to make their own schedule. 
  • Supervisors are not security personnel and do not intervene physically—our role is solely to observe, document, and report.
  • Compensation is based on visit length and location. Milwaukee County and Waukesha-30$ per hour of visitation. Kenosha-Racine-25$ per hour of visitation, additional time after the visit may be required such as uploading and writing the report.
