Trapper’s Landing Lodge is a five-star resort located on the shores of Leech Lake in Walker, Minnesota. Known for offering more than the traditional family vacation, the lodge features luxury accommodations, a protected marina with boat rentals, and year-round outdoor recreation. Guests enjoy 1,600 feet of beautiful shoreline, sandy beaches, a full-service marina, fishing, hiking, hunting, and more. When it’s time to unwind, they head to our heated outdoor pool, sauna, and The Merit Lakeside Dining & Cocktails—a full bar and restaurant open to both resort guests and the public.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and service-oriented Server to join our team at The Merit. As a server, you are more than just the person who takes orders—you are a key part of creating memorable guest experiences that reflect the excellence and warmth of our lakeside resort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a welcoming and attentive dining experience for every guest
- Effectively communicate menu items, including specials, allergens, and recommendations
- Accurately take orders and ensure timely, correct delivery of food and beverages
- Confirm that food and drinks meet presentation and quality standards before serving
- Regularly check on guests to anticipate needs and respond to requests promptly
- Handle payment transactions accurately, including processing credit cards and handling cash
- Collaborate with team members, including bartenders, hosts, and kitchen staff, to ensure seamless service
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the dining area throughout service and after close
- Uphold hospitality standards while addressing guest concerns or complaints professionally and promptly, involving management when needed
What We’re Looking For:
- Prior experience in full-service dining preferred, but we will train the right team member
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Comfortable standing or walking for extended periods and carrying trays/plates
- Basic math skills and working knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required
- Commitment to maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation protocols
