Stewardship Technician
The Nisqually Land Trust Stewardship Technician will work collaboratively with Land Trust staff, volunteers, partners, neighbors, and contractors to implement land stewardship, habitat and property maintenance, and habitat restoration activities. Typically, the person in this position spends three workdays in the field and two days in the office each week, with occasional weekend and holiday work events.
The Nisqually Land Trust's service area includes the Nisqually River Watershed and South Puget Sound nearshore areas that contribute to the Nisqually Reach. Our mission is to protect and steward lands to permanently benefit the water, fish, wildlife, and people of the Nisqually River Watershed. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about collaborating with partners and volunteers to care for fish and wildlife habitats and interested in being part of a small team dedicated to watershed protection and restoration.
Task will include:
- monitoring and documenting site conditions on Land Trust owned lands and conservation easements;
- identification and control of invasive weeds;
- planting, maintenance, and monitoring native trees and shrubs;
- site maintenance work, such as, fencing, gates, signage, and minor demolition;
- recordkeeping and report writing; and
- assisting with volunteer and public events on Land Trust properties.
