Pay Range: $15 - $25/hour depending on experience

Job Description:
We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic instructor to lead a dynamic and interactive music exploration class. This course is designed for students who love music but may not have access to instruments or formal training. Instead, the class focuses on rhythm, beat, vocal experimentation, digital music creation, and collaborative group activities to foster a deeper appreciation for music in fun and engaging ways. The ideal instructor has a background in music/music education, and/or music therapy. They must have a passion for using music as a tool for expression and connection. They should be patient, adaptable, and excited to create a welcoming space where students can explore music and develop their talents.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and facilitate hands-on, engaging music activities that encourage creativity and participation.
- Introduce students to rhythm and beat through body percussion, clapping games, and found-object drumming.
- Guide students in songwriting and lyric creation to express ideas and emotions through music.
- Explore different music genres, helping students understand what makes each unique.
- Utilize digital tools and apps to create simple music compositions and soundscapes.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment where students feel comfortable experimenting with music.
- Adapt lessons to suit the interests and energy levels of the students, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all.
- Communicate with students, co-teachers, and program coordinators regarding class updates and student progress.
Qualifications:
- Experience in music education, performing arts, or a related field.
- Ability to engage students in non-traditional music learning experiences.
- Creativity and adaptability in lesson planning and facilitation.
- Strong classroom management and leadership skills.
- Enthusiasm for making music accessible and enjoyable for all students.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality for all scheduled sessions.
