Warehouse Manager

Job Overview:

The Warehouse Manager will oversee the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of goods. The ideal candidate will manage warehouse operations to ensure quality, productivity, and safety standards are met. This role requires strategic planning and exceptional organizational skills to ensure effective inventory management and logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse Operations Management:
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor the receipt, order, assembly, and dispatch of goods.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of warehouse space and resources.
  • Manage and oversee the use of automated and computerized systems for efficient warehouse operations.
  • Inventory Control:
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular physical counts to ensure accuracy.
  • Implement and oversee inventory management processes to minimize loss and ensure stock availability.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing and sales departments to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Staff Management and Development:
  • Recruit, select, orient, and train warehouse staff.
  • Supervise and appraise staff performance, providing feedback and training as necessary.
  • Ensure a high level of morale and productivity within the team.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure the highest standards of quality for all stored and dispatched goods.
  • Develop and implement procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Monitor the quality of incoming and outgoing goods to prevent damage and discrepancies.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure that all warehouse operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to minimize accidents and injuries.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Logistics and Delivery Management:
  • Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers.
  • Optimize delivery routes and schedules to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and carriers.
  • Cost Management:
  • Monitor and manage warehouse operating costs to stay within budget.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement effective strategies to reduce expenses.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers to secure the best rates.
  • Technology and Process Improvement:
  • Implement and maintain warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technologies.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and develop solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continually improve warehouse operations.
  • Strategic Planning and Reporting:
  • Develop and execute short and long-term operational plans to achieve business goals.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse operations, inventory levels, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Kickback’s inventory management solutions.
  • Knowledge of inventory and delivery support processes.
  • Understanding of fraud prevention measures and quality assurance standards in the auto parts industry.
