Assistant Professor - Technical and Digital Services Librarian

Are you a tech-savvy librarian who loves making information more accessible? Join us as the Assistant Professor - Technical and Digital Services Librarian and play a key role in shaping the future of our library!

In this dynamic role, you’ll oversee cataloging, metadata management, and bibliographic control, ensuring students and faculty have seamless access to the resources they need. You'll lead the Technical Services Department, developing policies, managing workflows, and preserving Special Collections. With a strong focus on digital resources and emerging technologies, you'll also ensure our e-resources integrate smoothly with library systems and support distance learning initiatives.

Beyond the technical side, you’ll collaborate with campus partners to provide research assistance, reference support, and support student learning. You’ll also help guide budgeting decisions and mentor staff, making a direct impact on the library’s future.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s in Library and Information Science (or MLS) or equivalent degree from an American Library Association accredited institution to be completed by start date and a minimum of one-year full-time equivalent library experience including technical services and cataloging is required. Ex Libris Alma Administration Certification or ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Working knowledge of, Resource Description and Access (RDA), metadata and metadata manipulation tools (e.g., MARCEdit, Open Refine), and Library of Congress Subject Headings
• Knowledge of current developments in librarianship and library management
• Good knowledge of, and strong skills using, digital resources and new library technologies
• Knowledge of systems specific to the needs of the department (i.e. OCLC)
• Knowledge of budgeting standards and processes for a department
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient skills using current Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to operate standard office equipment including phone, copier

Starting pay range: $56,781 - $78,808

Work Site Location: Coeur d' Alene Campus
Work Schedule: This tenure-track position has partial summers off with pay and benefits over 12 months!
