Special Education Paraprofessional/Site Assistant

Lakes Country Service Cooperative, a leader in providing regional support for school districts, cities, counties, and other government agencies is looking for an individual to join our staff in Alexandria, MN at Lakes Country Academy (LCA), a setting IV program, as a Paraprofessional/Site Assistant.
 
Located in the west-central Minnesota lakes area, Lakes Country Academy (LCA) provides highly effective social skills training and highly accountable behavioral/academic programs for students with ASD and EBD in a highly structured setting. The Paraprofessional/Site Assistant position is a dual role and requires someone who is passionate about supporting students while also ensuring the smooth daily operations of the school office. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a dynamic school environment. A typical work day is 7.25 hours per day between the hours of 8am-4pm (as set by the Site Administrator) with 182 days worked yearly.
 
Required qualifications include:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent,
  • A minimum of 60 accumulated post-secondary credits, or a completed Associates (2yr) Degree, OR
  • Candidates may substitute a passing score on either the ParaEducator or ParaPro exam for the post-secondary credits. The exam may be taken after hire but must be passed within 30 days of hire for continued employment.

Pay rate for this position starts at $18.75 per hour, with consideration for prior relevant experience. We offer sick leave, personal days, health, vision, and dental plans, 403b and PERA retirement savings.
