Senior Robotics Engineer - Marine and Renewable Energy

Exciting opportunity to join a marine robotics startup in New York City. We are searching for a highly motivated engineer with experience in ROS2 development, accurate physics simulations, electronics, PCB design and motor integration. This role involves system integration and path planning for an advanced marine robotic platform. Experience with Gazebo (Ignition preferred) and real-world robotic applications is highly desirable.

Your key responsibilities will be:

·        Integrate motors, sensors, and embedded electronics into robotic platforms.

·        Work with ROS2 and simulation tools.

·        Develop, simulate, and optimize vehicle path planning algorithms.

·        Design and develop circuit boards for robotic systems.

·        Support hardware-software integration, debugging, and testing.

·        Document designs, troubleshoot hardware/software issues, and collaborate across teams.

Skills & Qualifications:

·        Master’s Degree in relevant engineering field (Electrical, Robotics, Mechanical).

·        PhD preferred.

·        8+ years of industry experience (4+ with PhD).

·        Experience with ROS2, Gazebo (Ignition preferred), and/or other physics simulation environments.

·        Knowledge of path planning, motion control, and real-time systems.

·        Proficiency in Python, C++, and embedded systems programming.

·        Strong background in electronics, PCB design, and motor integration.

·        Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead technical projects.

·        Previous experience working collaboratively in Github is desirable.
