Assistant Worship Pastor and Tech Director
Position Summary
The Assistant Worship Pastor and Tech Director at Living Way Fellowship plays a vital role in discipling the next generation of worship leaders and musicians. This position focuses on mentoring and equipping the youth group worship team, fostering spiritual growth and musical excellence. This role will also provide leadership for Sunday services, mid-week youth gatherings and special events by managing audio, visual and lighting (AVL) teams. Additionally, this role will support video production, maintain AVL equipment and help to oversee the church’s online presence through a team of volunteers. This is a full-time, exempt position, reporting directly to the Worship Pastor and collaborating with the Senior Pastor.
Key Responsibilities
- Discipleship and Mentorship:
- Lead, disciple and mentor the youth group worship team, focusing on spiritual growth, musical development and training them to become worship leaders themselves.
- Develop and implement a plan for identifying, equipping and discipling new musicians across the church.
- Provide regular training and spiritual leadership to youth and adult worship teams to cultivate a heart of worship and service.
- Sunday Services and Youth Worship:
- Oversee and lead AVL operations for Sunday + Wednesday services, ensuring a seamless worship experience.
- Support and mentor the Uturn youth group worship team during Wednesday night gatherings, helping them grow as leaders and worshippers.
- Actively facilitate rehearsals for youth worship teams, fostering collaboration and excellence.
- Technical and Creative Oversight:
- Recruit, train and schedule volunteers for sound, media, lighting and livestream teams.
- Manage AVL equipment, including maintenance, troubleshooting and budgeting.
- Collaborate with the Worship Pastor and Senior Pastor to plan service orders and creative elements for worship.
- Manage video production for announcements and creative projects, as well as stage design.
- Online Community Engagement
- Lead the livestream team and shepherd the church’s online community using innovative and discipleship-focused approaches.
- Engage with social media to extend the reach of Living Way Fellowship and support its mission.
Qualifications
- Must walk in discipleship in a manner worthy of the Lord Jesus Christ (Eph. 4:1). Our first calling is to follow Christ, and this calling must be evident.
- At least two years of experience working with AVL systems.
- At least two years of experience mentoring and developing volunteers or teams.
- Passionate about discipling musicians and equipping youth for worship leadership.
- Strong ability to recruit, train and manage volunteers.
- Collaborative team player who fully embraces the mission, vision and values of Living Way Fellowship.
- Creative and innovative in approaches to worship, discipleship and technical arts.
Desired Skills
- Spiritual leadership: Ability to mentor and disciple youth in their walk with Christ.
- Musical leadership: Proficiency in live sound mixing, studio production and stage performance.
- Technical expertise: Skilled in lighting, video editing and camera operation.
- Creative vision: Experienced in stage design and worship set planning.
- System proficiency: Knowledgeable in Planning Center, ProPresenter, Logic Pro X, Mainstage, Dante Audio and more.
