Clinical Fellow Speech-Language Pathologist (CF-SLP)

WORLD OF WORDS (WOW) EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES is looking for a Clinical Fellow (CF) Speech-Language Pathologist to join our early intervention team.  The position would start as a part-time position, and you would have the option to build up your caseload to a full-time position. WOW therapists work with young children (under 3 years of age) and their parents/caregivers, providing speech/language therapy services.

Group therapy services are provided at our early learning center in San Francisco.  Individual therapy services can be provided at our early learning center and/or at the clients’ home, daycare, or preschool in San Francisco and/or San Mateo County.  


Job duties include:
❖ Provide speech/language therapy services in the child’s natural environment (early learning center, home, daycare, etc.) under the supervision of a licensed/CCC-SLP
❖ Target goals as outlined in the child’s Individualized Family Services Plan (IFSP)
❖ Demonstrate developmentally appropriate activities for the parent/caregiver
❖ Demonstrate the use of developmentally appropriate materials
❖ Teach parents/caregivers how to use play as a tool for intervention
❖ Teach parents/caregivers how to stimulate language development in everyday activities
❖ Conduct assessment in the area of communication, using both informal (e.g., clinical observation) and formal (e.g., Rossetti, REEL, PLS, DAYC) assessment tools
❖ Monitor clients’ progress on their IFSP goals
❖ Write progress and exit reports, which include the client’s progress and assessment results
 

Job qualifications:
* Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
* Must possess or be able to obtain an RPE license from the Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology Board of California

* Bilingual English/Spanish language skills preferred
* Experience working with young children with special needs preferred
* Experience working with families and/or daycare providers preferred
* Experience providing parent/caregiver training preferred
 

Other job requirements:
* Must possess or be able to obtain Department of Justice Fingerprint Clearance
* Must possess or be able to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification
* Must have valid CA Driver’s License and reliable transportation
