About us

Epiphany is a neighborhood Episcopal church in Seattle, located in the Madrona neighborhood. Epiphany Seattle seeks a part-time childcare provider to work in our nursery on Sunday mornings and at occasional events. We seek punctual and reliable applicants who enjoy working with children. All nursery workers must receive a background check and complete Safe Church certification. Nursery workers should expect to work 4 hours per shift.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22-$25 per hour

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reliability

At Epiphany Seattle, we rely on our scheduled hourly employees to ensure a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for our community. Employees are expected to arrive on time and be ready to work their scheduled shifts.

Child Care

  • Provide attentive care to infants and toddlers, comforting, and soothing, and diaper changing when needed. 
  • Engage children with age-appropriate activities like singing, playing with toys, reading simple stories, and interactive games. 
  • Monitor children's safety and well-being, addressing any needs or concerns promptly. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized nursery space, adhering to sanitation standards. 

Check-in/Check-out

  • Greet parents and children warmly, ensuring accurate check-in procedures, including recording child information and any special needs. 
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's well-being during their time in the nursery. 

Communication and Collaboration

  • Collaborate with other nursery workers to maintain a smooth flow of activities and provide consistent care.
  • Report any concerns regarding children's health or behavior to the Children's Ministry Leader. 
  • Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's experience in the nursery. 

Qualifications

  • Experience: Prior experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare setting preferred. 
  • Child Development:
    Basic understanding of child development stages and appropriate activities for different age groups.
  • Safety Awareness:
    Knowledge of child safety procedures and ability to maintain a secure environment. Positive Attitude:
    Ability to interact with children in a positive, patient, and nurturing manner.
