Job Description

 

Sonographer - PRN / As need schedule

We are seeking an experienced Sonographer II to join our healthcare team in Baltimore, United States. In this role, you will perform diagnostic medical sonography procedures while providing exceptional patient care and maintaining high clinical standards.

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to established protocols
  • Analyze sonographic images to ensure optimal diagnostic quality
  • Document and record examination findings in medical records and PACS systems
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure proper functionality
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to provide patient care
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior sonographers
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Prepare and position patients for sonographic procedures
  • Explain procedures to patients and address their concerns
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and continuing education

Qualifications

 

  • Graduate of an approved Medical Sonography program.
  • Current ARDMS certification required
  • Current BLS certification
  • 3-5 years of clinical sonography experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in various ultrasound procedures and equipment
  • Experience with PACS systems and medical imaging software
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical ability to assist patients and maintain prolonged standing positions
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Experience in multiple sonography specialties preferred
  • On-Call: Must be available to participate in the department on-call requirements.
