Multimedia Journalist

WREX, the NBC Affiliate in Rockford, IL, is looking for a dynamic multi-media journalist who can do it all.  We want a candidate who likes to write, edit, shoot, go live, enterprise original stories and post to our digital platforms.  If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you!

WREX is committed to producing award-winning content on multiple platforms, including mobile, web and social media.  The ideal candidate will have a full understanding of how to effectively use these types of digital media. You’ll enterprise stories that set us apart from the competition, everything from breaking news to memorable features.

We’re looking for someone who is just as comfortable in a live ad-lib situation as they are with a script.

Superior writing skills are key, as well as your ability to connect with the audience.

We also need a leader in both the newsroom and the community. The perfect candidate is dedicated to working with others in a team-oriented environment.   

The Rockford Television market is a great place to live with numerous colleges and universities, good quality of life, low-cost of living, ample recreation and close to Chicago, Madison, Milwaukee, and Minneapolis.

Employment will depend on a successful background and driving records check.
