Location: Fuel Fusion Restaurant – Wilmette, IL

Type: Part-Time evenings (Th, Fri, Sat)

Cuisine: Modern American with Creative Twists

Fuel Fusion is a vibrant, modern American restaurant celebrated for its commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients, handcrafted brunches, and a lively yet refined dining atmosphere featuring live music and weekly bingo. We are seeking a passionate and visionary Executive Chef to lead our dinner program, bringing a fine dining approach to our modern American cuisine.
 

Job Summary:

The Executive Chef is responsible for the overall success of the kitchen. This includes menu development, food quality and consistency, staff training and supervision, cost control, and maintaining health and safety standards. The ideal candidate will bring leadership, innovation, and a deep passion for modern American cuisine.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Lead all kitchen operations with a focus on quality, efficiency, and innovation

Develop seasonal menus and weekly specials that reflect Fuel Fusion’s style

Train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth and consistent execution

Oversee inventory, purchasing, and food cost control

Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards in accordance with health regulations

Collaborate with management on event menus, dinner features, and holiday specials

Monitor and manage labor and food costs to meet budget goals

Uphold high standards of presentation, taste, and guest satisfaction

 

Qualifications:

Recent graduate or 1 - 2 years of culinary leadership experience (Executive Chef or Sous Chef level) 

Expertise in Modern American cuisine with an eye for creativity and plating

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Experience in inventory management, cost control, and team development

Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred

Food Manager Certification required (or obtained upon hire)

 

Schedule:

Must be available for dinner service, and weekend events

Flexibility required for holidays and special events
