Technical Support Analyst, Information Systems Specialist 5 (Pendleton)

The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly skilled Information System Specialist 5 to play a vital role in supporting our automation infrastructure across the state. 

 

This position will be providing on-site support and primarily located in-person at the Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution.

 

About the Job – Your Role

As an Information Systems Specialist 5, you’ll be the key point of contact ensuring the automation systems used by the Department of Corrections (DOC) staff and multi-jurisdictional partners are operational, secure, and connect to the DOC and AIC networks. You will primarily support a designated region but also provide expert level support and backup to other areas throughout the state as needed.

 

This position is essential in maintaining daily operations for our correctional institutions, community corrections, and various outside agency partners. You’ll respond to service requests, resolve complex incidents, and collaborate closely with end-users and technical teams to ensure seamless functionality of our systems.

 

This position is represented by American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). This position may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) years of information systems experience in technical support
OR
An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field AND two (2) years of information systems experience in technical support
OR
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

 

Requested Skills

  • Excellent Customer Service
  • Experience working with ITSM Tools, Microsoft Configuration Manager as well as other Enterprise level software and tools
  • Prioritizing and managing multiple incidents and service requests under tight and sometimes competing deadlines
  • Proven experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting various software/hardware with complex configurations including legacy software
  • Proficient documentation and organization skills
  • Strong participation in a team environment
  • Experience working in or with government, law enforcement, or corrections agencies

 

Required

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

The salary range listed above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect an additional 6.95%.
