Speech and Language Pathologist
($2500.00 Sign-On Bonus available)
The Speech and Language Pathologist is a professional clinical position responsible for providing speech and language therapy to students in a separate day school that provides full day special education and related services for students ages 4-21 years. The SLP within this program provides services within a collaborative model including the special educator, instructional support staff, behavioral support staff and other related service providers. The primary goal of this educational program is to help students reach their potential in the areas of academics, communication, behavioral, social and life skills.
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
• Directly facilitates individual and group speech and language therapy in the classroom and other school settings as a member of a collaborative team
• Supports classroom staff in implementing strategies to improve speech and language skills for each student.
• Assesses students to determine skill, strengths, and needs in the area of speech and language.
• Supports student’s use of AAC (Augmentative and Alternate Communication) devices
• Completes, maintains, and submits documentation (including for billable sessions for Medical Assistance, daily logs, progress reports, IEP documentation) based on established guidelines
• Participates and implements students’ behavioral plan along with members of the team
• Functions as a treatment team member and attends all team conferences and meetings.
• Facilitates the development of all treatment goals, objectives, interventions, and approaches as they relate to the IEP.
• Responsible for case management of students’ outside-agency providers, as applicable.
• Serves as a liaison to resources in the community.
• Attends trainings and meetings as required.
• Provides periodic staff development training relating to language development or specific strategies used within the school program.
• Shares/transmits the mission and vision of Arrow Child & Family Ministries to staff and to students and families served.
• Performs all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, Arrow policy, and COA/NCASES standards.

Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional variables. An individual must be able to apply basic math fundamentals with the ability to interpret and clearly communicate data and concepts.
Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology and at least one (1) year experience working with children diagnosed with autism preferably in a school setting. Individuals seeking Clinical Fellowship will also be considered. Must have license or be eligible for provisional licensure as a speech-language pathologist by the state specific Department of Health and Mental Hygiene at time of appointment and continuously throughout tenure in position.
