Reports To: Associate Director of Development Operations
Pay Rate: $23-$25/hour

Position Overview:
JFS is looking for a compassionate, mission-driven individual to join the Advancement Services team as the Donor Database Associate. In this role, you have the opportunity to use your organizational and analytical skills, and data entry experience to make a meaningful difference in your community and help change lives across San Diego. The Donor Database Associate plays an integral role on the team and supports the entire agency by assisting with the accurate recording and processing of over 8,000 donor gifts and corresponding acknowledgements annually. This position partners with other members of the team to maintain data integrity and provides additional support to the Advancement staff to help achieve fundraising goals. This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Development Operations and works closely with the other Donor Database Associate and the rest of the Advancement Services team.
Responsibilities:
- Records all gifts accurately using the Raiser’s Edge database
- Selects, prepares, and sends appropriate individualized acknowledgements for all gifts based on predetermined criteria
- Processes and handles credit card information securely and accurately
- Ensures acknowledgement letters are accurate and complete for donors and mailed out within 72 hours of receipt of gift
- Processes data being communicated between the Raiser’s Edge and Luminate Online
- Assists the Advancement Team with data entry and donor record upkeep with emphasis on accuracy and consistency
- Handles calls to and from donors, volunteers, and staff, in a professional and friendly manner
- Organize, create, and maintain Development records, files, and other materials
- Provides support at charitable events, including registration and donation processing
- Maintains and performs record and data cleanup/updates in Raiser’s Edge to ensure consistency and integrity
- Processes all checks received by mail daily and work with other staff members to prepare daily deposit log
Skills/Abilities That Are a Must-Have:
- Accurate data entry skills balanced with strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Works independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision
- Maintains positive and professional demeanor and demonstrate credibility, integrity, and confidentiality
- Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong computer skills when working with data in a Windows environment
- Comfortable asking questions and seeking additional training needed to execute all tasks associated with the position
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow directions, policies, and procedures
- Excellent telephone and oral communication skills
- Good to excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication skills
- Ability to problem-solve in complex situations
- Ability to analyze and organize data
- Eagerness to participate in additional classes and training, or obtain additional certifications associated with the position
- Positive and professional demeanor and demonstrates integrity, accountability, and confidentiality with internal and external partners
- Desire to create, streamline, and update processes is a plus
Skills/Abilities We’d Like You to Have:
- Working knowledge of a general ledger and gift coding structure
- Strong mathematical skills and basic understanding of accounting concepts as it relates to handling and processing donations
- Experience working with donor management software such as Blackbaud or Salesforce products, preferably Raiser’s Edge or Altru, is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting for a long period of time
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
