Retail Sales Associate

Urban Owl has been a beloved part of the vibrant Bishop Arts Districts for 5 years now. Our
mission is to provide customers with curated gifts and personal goods in a one-of-a-kind boutique environment that offers an exclusive sensorial experience. We carry a wide variety of products so that everyone finds a gift for every occasion.
This position is in a fast-paced, high-traffic retail store where adaptability, strong customer service, and selling skills are essential. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic setting, can handle multiple customers at once, and remains composed and positive under pressure.
We are currently looking for a sales associate from all profiles and backgrounds. You will
immediately be part of a go-give spirit, fun and dynamic team where you will be encouraged to take an active part in the growth and continually develop your professional skills.

Our hours:
Sunday-Wednesday: 10AM-7PM
Thursday: 10AM-9PM
Friday-Saturday: 10AM-10PM
Weekends, evenings, and most holidays are required.
RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
• Warmly greet customers as they enter the shop, identify their needs, recommend the
appropriate products and respond quickly and resourcefully to any requests and concerns.
• Create a positive, inviting environment for customers.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints.
• Maintain the sales floor by restocking shelves, updating pricing and completing inventory
management tasks according to the shop policies and procedures. Assisting with new
shipments by checking quality, pricing, and entering into our system.
• Collaborate with other team members to keep the sales floor area as well as back room
clean and organized at all times.
• Accurately perform cashier duties: handling cash and credit card transactions with precision while following shop policies and procedures.
• Completing opening and closing procedures in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Ability to work well on a team, to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Lifting and exerting up to 35 lbs of force occasionally, up to 10 lbs of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force regularly to move objects to and from, including overhead lifting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math.
• Gift wrap enthusiast.
