Part-Time Adjunct Faculty Pickleball Instructor

Whatcom Community College invites applications for part-time, adjunct faculty Pickleball Instructor position to start fall quarter 2025. The adjunct position in pickleball requires basic instruction twice a week on the WCC pickleball courts. The course includes the study of the basic principles of movement - space, time and effort- through the methodologies that are within the expertise of the instructor. Emphasis on creating lesson plans and training to enhance pickleball techniques, understanding, and confidence. The instructor should foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages growth, enjoyment, and success in the sport. Instructors at WCC should have an understanding of the mission of the community college, excellent interpersonal skills and abilities, as well as a desire to provide a unique and quality experience for students.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated professional experience and expertise teaching foundations in Pickleball.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in PE or Exercise Science. 
  • Pickleball coaching certification.
  • Teaching experience in higher education.
  • Ability to inspire a diverse student population to learn and promote Sports Management.
  • Experience with instructional technology including Canvas (Learning Management System).
  • Actively contributes to a work environment that embraces diversity and uses diverse perspectives to enhance the attainment of the College's mission and vision.

Salary:

  • $2,360.00 for fall quarter. 

Benefit Package: 

  • Accrues a percentage of 7 hours (equal to the percentage of workload) per month of sick leave (ex. 50% quarterly employment contract x 7 hrs for full-time = 3.5 hrs per month for that quarter.)
