News Production Assistant
WDAF-TV / Fox 4 in Kansas City is seeking a News Production Assistant. The News Production Assistant provides support to production staff prior to, during and after the production of a program
- Collaborate with the director and studio staff to coordinate the action in the studio or while out on location
- Maintains and stores equipment
- Studio maintenance
- Adjusts positions and controls of cameras to change focus, exposure and lighting as requested by the director
- Operates studio cameras during live broadcasts
- Operates remote cameras during live broadcasts
- Confers with directors and other crew members to discuss sequences, desired effects, camera movements and lighting requirements
- Sets up cameras and related equipment
- Runs teleprompter during newscasts
- Greet and mic guests
- Coordinate segments in the studio
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
- High School Diploma required
- Familiarity with processes and procedures of a television production department.
- Experience in television, film, or post production preferred
- Must be able to interact well with video journalists, anchors, videographers, news managers, production and engineering staff.
- Detail oriented.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Basic computer knowledge including MS Office.
