Mid-Level Software Developer (Journeyman) 2024-1439

SimVentions, consistently voted one of Virginia's Best Places to Work, is looking for an experienced Software Developer to develop weapon system control software based in Java. This position is located on-site at our Dahlgren office in King George, VA with some limited hybrid potential, after initial onboarding period.

Clearance

An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting coding with C++, Kotlin, Java, and other related/similar software
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with DoD research and development programs
  • Knowledge of hardware architectures, microcontrollers and communication protocols
  • Knowledge of writing test cases, unit testing and validation of hardware software integration
  • Knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite, including network stack integration and socket programming
  • Knowledge in diagnosing and resolving network-related issues, including network configuration, connectivity, and data transmission problems
  • Knowledge of Weapon Systems and Command & Control Systems
  • Working on base at NSWCDD 2-3 days per week

Responsibilities

  • Develop software for existing control systems
  • Support testing and assessment of embedded systems locally and at external locations
  • Utilize software development best practices within government development processes
  • Identify and incorporate the latest hardware, technology, and techniques in this rapidly evolving environment
  • Routinely collaborate with the government team through regularly scheduled meetings onsite

Education

A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline is preferred but not required.

Compensation

Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.

 

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $92,000.00  - $135,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
