We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Accounting Manager Assistant. This role will provide hands-on experience in accounting and financial management while supporting our Accounting Manager in daily operations. Olek Inc is a dynamic small business specializing in restoration of Historic Public Works properties across much of the U.S. (Train Stations, Courthouses, Churches, other Government Buildings), including Architectural woodwork, windows and doors, and furniture for commercial clients and residential customers in the NY metro region. We’re seeking a motivated Accounting Intern/Accounting Manager Assistant to support our growing financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, invoice processing, and expense tracking.
- Support monthly account reconciliation and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, under supervision.
- Help with payroll date collecting and payroll processing.
- Maintain organized records and documentation for audits and compliance.
- Provide administrative support to the Accounting Manager, including scheduling and correspondence.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the office manager.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Previous internship or work experience in accounting or finance is a plus but not required.
