Development Assistant - Temporary
Seneca Family of Agencies is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Development Assistant to support our community-based fundraising efforts on the Central Coast. This locally rooted role will focus on boosting visibility for Seneca's mission and provide administrative and logistical support for central coast campaigns and events. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on meaningful, hands-on work that directly supports children and families in Monterey County. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, solution-oriented, and ready to represent Seneca out in the community.

Responsibilities:

Event Support and Logistics
- Assist with the coordination and execution of fundraising events and campaigns.
- Coordinate event logistics: scheduling, securing supplies, liaising with vendors, tracking RSVPs, and recruiting/organizing volunteers.
- Represent & seek out opportunities to represent Seneca at community events, distributing flyers and engaging with attendes to raise awareness and support.
- Help promote events through outreach to local businesses and community partners.

Administrative and Development Support
- Provide administrative support including scheduling, recordkeeping, and preparing materials for meetings and events.

Community Engagement
- Help build relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and volunteers to support events and campaigns.
- Attend community meetings, tabling events, and other engagements to represent Seneca and share its mission.
Qualifications:
Required
- Education/experience requirements:
- Associate degree or equivalent + 1 years of applicable work experience OR
- High school diploma/GED + 2 years of applicable work experience
- Applicable work experience includes any paid or unpaid experience in an administrative capacity requiring customer service, data entry, ability to prioritize multiple projects within strict deadlines, and coordination with multiple departments.
- Based in Monterey County and familiar with the local community.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.
- Experience in using event management software, volunteer management platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Commitment to integrating DEI values.
- At least 21 years of age.
- TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy.
Preferred
- Experience in event logistics, fundraising, and administrative support.

- Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Comfort with public engagement and representing an organization in the community.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Benefits
- Starting at $25.46 - $27.96 per hour.
- Actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualification.
