What I liked
I really enjoyed the opportunity to do an internship at MDH and learn more about public health. My supervisors were all very supportive and I worked on projects that I found interesting. I ultimately was hired on after my summer internship experience to continue working at MDH as a student worker part-time for the school year.
What I wish was different
I worked on a lot of different projects but didn't always have the opportunity to complete the projects over my summer internship, but that is why I'm excited to continue to work at MDH, to wrap up some projects and produce finalized products from what I worked on and learned.

What I liked
The staff were very kind and welcoming, I got the opportunity to attend interesting seminars, and I was able to learn a new software for website development.
What I wish was different
I wish I had taken advantage of the flexibility of this job more - adjusting my schedule and working from home were both encouraged for student workers.
Advice
Don't be afraid to connect with your coworkers! The people who worked in my office had an interesting variety of experiences, and talking to them informed my thoughts on grad school and employment after college.
